Brennan Ferrocement ADU.

Auburn, CA.

A semi-buried dwelling of thin-shell ferrocement domes, conceived as an adaptive response to California’s fire-driven and warming climate. Nestled into the land, the building takes advantage of thermal mass and earth shielding for both comfort and resilience. Lightweight yet durable, the structure resists heat and flame while offering a sculptural, light-filled interior. Skylights and carved openings connect each space—sleeping, bathing, gathering—to the forest beyond. Raw finishes, curved forms, and passive strategies come together in a grounded, low-impact design—an elemental step forward in fire-conscious living.
